As indicated by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics, we recommend the establishment of a dental home at the child’s eruption of first tooth and no later than the first birthday, the objectives being the prevention of Early Childhood Caries and other chronic oral diseases, and the initiation of anticipatory guidance.
